Meet the farmer
A lifelong relationship with fresh food and the land.
Karen Parnther has been connected to farming since childhood. Growing up in Jamaica, fresh food was a natural part of everyday life. Summers spent with her grandparents, who were farmers, helped shape her appreciation for agriculture, nutrition, and healthy living.
Karen also studied agriculture during high school, strengthening an interest that stayed with her after she moved to Connecticut. She began gardening within her community and gradually expanded that work into the urban farming business known today as Jasian Greens.
The farm now provides vegetables, herbs, peppers, and seasonal crops to customers through local farmers’ markets and community-based sales.
