A little about me
A lifelong connection to hard work and the land.
Derrick Bedward is originally from Clarendon, Jamaica. He grew up in a hardworking family: his father was a farmer and tradesman, while his mother worked as an accountant. That upbringing helped shape both his work ethic and his connection to the land.
Farming is something Derrick truly enjoys. He values staying busy and productive, especially while doing work he is passionate about. Being connected to nature, he says, brings out the best in him.
Outside of farming, Derrick enjoys music, food, writing, and singing. He believes there is always room to learn and grow, and values staying active, curious, and connected to his community.
“I wanted to turn my experience, skills, and passion for agriculture into something meaningful for myself and the community.”
